It is with great sadness that we announce that the Pleasantville Music & Street Festival will not take place this year.

Following a review by Village Council, it was determined that the festival should be organized and operated by a nonprofit organization moving forward. While several groups have expressed interest, no organization was able to secure the necessary funding and resources required to successfully host the event this year.

We understand the disappointment this news may bring. The Pleasantville Music & Street Festival has long been a cherished tradition that brings together residents, families, businesses, and visitors to celebrate our community. Its absence this year will certainly be felt by many.

On a positive note, there are currently a couple of organizations exploring opportunities to take on the festival in the future. We are encouraged by these discussions and remain optimistic that the festival will return next year.

While we may be taking a brief pause this year, we are confident that the festival's future remains bright. With additional planning, support, and community involvement, we believe the Pleasantville Music & Street Festival can return bigger and better than ever before.

We appreciate the continued support, enthusiasm, and dedication of everyone who has contributed to the festival over the years. We look forward to sharing more information as future plans develop.

Now Open for the Season

Pleasantville Pool

Opens Tuesday · June 9, 2026

The pool is open Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm (closed Mondays). Daily admission is $4.00 per person, ages 3 & under free, and just $2.00 every Wednesday. Private pool parties are available by reservation.

Village of Pleasantville Council

Open Seat

The Village of Pleasantville has one (1) vacancy on the Village Council and is seeking a qualified resident who is interested in this opportunity to serve their community and help shape its future. The role is both rewarding and challenging, requiring thoughtful decision-making, collaboration, and commitment to public service.

Interested candidates should submit their Letter of Interest and resume to the Village Municipal Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Office is open Monday through Friday from noon until 4:00 PM and is located at 101 S. Main St., next to the Post Office.

Letters of Intent and resumes can also be emailed to [email protected] no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

This seat will serve a term beginning now through 2027. Council meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers located in the Maintenance Building at 106 E. Columbus St., Pleasantville.

Qualifications — Ohio Revised Code § 731.12

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 731.12, each member of the Village Council must have resided in the Village for at least one year immediately preceding election and must be a qualified elector of the Village. A Council member may not hold any other public office, be interested in any contract with the Village, or be employed by the Village, except that a member may serve as a notary public, a member of the state militia, or as a volunteer firefighter of the Village, provided no additional compensation is received for such volunteer service.

Any member who ceases to meet these qualifications or who removes residence from the Village shall forfeit the office.

Walnut Creek Sewer Board

Open Seat

The Village of Pleasantville is currently accepting applications for one seat on the WCSD Board representing the Village of Pleasantville. This individual will attend monthly meetings representing the Village of Pleasantville and oversee and direct operations and funding for the Walnut Creek Sewer District.

Interested candidates should submit their Letter of Interest and resume to the Village Municipal Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Office is open Monday through Friday from noon until 4:00 PM and is located at 101 S. Main St., next to the Post Office.

You must be 18 years of age and live within the Village of Pleasantville to apply. The open seat will serve a three (3) year term from 2026 through 2029.

The WCSD Board meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in Thurston, OH.
